My daughter has been taking lessons from Craig for many months, and is enjoying piano again, thanks to Craig’s exceptional ability to meet kids where they are in their musical journey and lead them forward very gently. He has a very relaxed approach to teaching, which puts kids at ease so they want to strive for high standards of performance.
Craig is a gifted musician who loves music, and very obviously loves imparting the joy of playing music to students of all ages. At his concert for student recitals last year, students spanned the age range from little tykes to octogenarians. He has coached my daughter for her MTAC Certificate of Merit Level 6 exam, motivating her to stay with the demanding MTAC syllabus for Level 7 now.
Craig’s own performances on YouTube are a pleasure to watch. From his study of different genres of music, and musicology, he posted a historical perspective of ragtime in two parts, especially highlighting Scott Joplin’s contribution to this uniquely American genre of music.
Craig is also good at guitar in addition to piano. I myself am looking forward to guitar lessons with him.

Craig is super nice and professional. Easy to communicate and flexible with the schedule. We’ve been with him for years. His teaching style is fun and nurturing, great for young minds. Really impressed by his technics. We appreciate him very much!
My daughter has been learning Piano with Craig for several months. I am very grateful to his passion, patience, and encouragement that he gave through the whole time. As a piano teach, he’s alway giving my daughter encouragement, lots of motivation, right technic, and easing away my worries. Showed why people like and want to play piano in their life and how a person can be so enjoyable when doing something that they really love. Craig’s very knowledgeable and talented. It’s easy to get touched by music he played, happy or sad, humor or classic. My daughter showed noticeable progress in a short time which in turn triggered herself to do better and more. This is the one of the best gifts we can give to our kids.

Craig has been teaching our two kids for years, we see a great value in the piano classes. If you are looking for a good piano teacher we recommend Craig’s piano lessons.
My 7yr old son and 11yr old daughter have been taking piano lessons with Mr. Craig for the past 2 years. He combines both theory and practice in every class, which gives students deeper understanding of each piece. They have recitals twice a year, which gives them an opportunity to prepare and perform in front of a live audience.
My kids always look forward to Mr. Craig’s piano class. He is engaging, patient and fun. Thanks to Mr. Craig my kids have developed a genuine interest in music.
Mr. Craig Lynch has taught my son piano since my son was 4 years old (now 13). Mr. Craig is both patient and encouraging. In addition, Mr. Craig’s semiannual recitals were an important factor in choosing a teacher, because we consider recitals important both as a motivation to perfect a piece by a firm deadline and also to promote confidence in performing for an audience. Also, I like that Mr. Craig spends time teaching music theory as well as performance skills. I recommend Mr. Craig as a piano teacher and his performing arts school Santa Teresa Academy of Music and Dance, where my sons have also taken dance and violin.
Craig is an amazing piano teacher. I am an adult student and Craig has been fantastic in helping me learn. He is so easy to work with and learn from!
My son Varun started Piano lessons with Craig when he was a little over 5 years old. He has been taking lessons from him for almost 10 years now, even though we’ve moved homes 3 times over those years.
I truly believe that the reason Varun has a real love for music, and is a competent pianist at 15 is that he had Craig for a teacher all these years. Craig is everything you want in a teacher — an expert at his craft, transparent about his love for it, understanding, encouraging and compassionate.
Personally, I am looking forward to many more years of association with Craig and Shirley. If you are looking for a teacher for you child or teen, or even yourself, you cannot go wrong with Craig.
My son takes classes remotely during the pandemic and he really likes his classes. Mr.Craig came in highly recommended from one of my friend. I was initially skeptic about remote learning, but it’s working out well. Mr. Craig gives frequent update about my son’s class via email which is helpful. Looking forward to see my son learning more from Mr. Craig.
My son has been taking piano lessons from Mr. Lynch for about two years now. It has been a great experience all around. In terms of music lessons, I look for two things in a teacher. One, how the teacher interact with parents and second, how well the teacher teaches the materials to a student.
I’ve always have good experience communicating with Mr. Lynch. He has always been quick to respond to my emails and concerns. Not long after my son started piano, I decided to get him a digital piano and do not know where to start as both my husband and I do not play piano. Luckily, Mr. Lynch was there with us all the way, helping us to choose the best piano for our child. He sends us information and provide us with great recommendations and where to buy the piano.
When it comes to teaching my child, he is always very patient. Due the pandemic, it is much harder to engage a child through zoom teaching and my child does not like zoom at all. Mr. Lynch try very hard to keep him interested. He makes sure to talk to my child when they first start a lesson. He tries to make it fun and interesting by giving different materials. When he sees that my child needs some work in certain areas, he would give more assignments in those area to improving his playing skills and to improve his understanding. As of now, my child is at the end of Lesson 4 after two years of taking lessons from him. I am pretty happy with my son’s progress and Mr. Lynch’s teaching.
I highly recommend Mr. Lynch as a piano teacher for any child.
At the age of 55 and never had even sat at a piano,
4 1/2 years later I’m now having a blast playing at a solid intermediate level and continuing to advance with every lesson. Craig is extremely easy going and has a gentle teaching style that has kept me interested and engaged.
For around the last 5 years, I have been learning piano with Mr. Lynch. I had 2 years of piano experience prior to attending Mr. Lynch’s lessons, with another teacher, but I switched to Mr. Lynch due to the fact that he had the certification to teach students who wanted to earn the Certificate of Merit. The Certificate of Merit is great for students who would like a bit more structure and focus on theory in their learning, but it is entirely optional. Parents should decide if they would like their child to aim for it depending on the goal outcome of their child’s piano lessons. The Certificate of Merit is concrete proof of the time commitment and effort students invest into their musical learning, which universities tend to value. I haven’t entered high school yet, but it’s never too early to begin preparing for the future. Mr. Lynch offering the Certificate of Merit is helping me reach my goals for the future. One thing I’ve observed about Mr. Lynch is that he immensely values communication. He greatly values student input and always goes out of his way to ensure his students are part of the conversation. His teaching environment is welcoming and a place where students can comfortably express themselves through their music. Another aspect of Mr. Lynch’s piano classes I appreciate is that students have an opportunity showcase their piano skills twice a year in recitals. There is a recital around the beginning of December and another one in the beginning of June. This ensures students are able to perform in front of an audience, and it helps teach us to manage our stage fright.
Mr. Craig has been my daughter’s piano teacher since 1st grade. Over these years he has passionately and patiently taught her the instrument as well as theory, and in addition a ‘lab’ session that provides the student a history of the instrument’s evolution and famous composers.
He also coaches and prepares her in taking the annual Certificate of Merit exam, which is quite challenging. Overall, we are pleased with her progress and grateful to her teacher’s dedication to see the student not only succeed but enjoy it along the way!
My son recently started piano training with Craig and it has been a wonderful experience. He loves playing the piano and looks forward to the weekly sessions.
He cleared his first level of MCAT exam with flying colors under Craig’s guidance. Craig had been super helpful ,until the last day of the exam helping correct the notes and making sure my son is prepared well!
Craig even sat with my son to review the theory questions which he got wrong and made him realize where he went wrong.
The best thing about Craig’s methodology is he makes piano playing fun and modifies the lessons as per the student’s level and aptitude. He is very friendly but at the same time makes the pupil understand the importance of regular piano practice and the joy it brings.
I am glad that my son is learning the piano with Craig and I highly recommend him.
My son has been taking piano lessons from
Craig for almost 2 years. Craig has provided a fun and nurturing environment for piano lessons. His set up area is clean and organized and perfect for students during their lessons. During COVID times, Craig quickly stepped up and adjusted to the new normal and was able to set up online learning immediately. I don’t think we missed any lessons during the transition. My son enjoys his lessons and will continue with lessons for a long time!
We are fortunate to have Craig as my daughters Piano Teacher. My daughter was very fond of music and we started her with a local teacher for one year and then Russian school of music for another year and within two years my daughter started disliking music and that where a friend suggested Craig and it was then we realized how much a good teacher means. In our past two years we have witnessed a huge difference. She created her own composition which was first in school and then first at council level. In current pandemic it was huge emotional support for my daughter.
Craig is an outstanding piano teacher who has made learning fun and engaging for my daughter. She started taking lessons at 9 with no prior experience and is now 11 and playing far better than I ever expected in such a short period of time.
During the COVID pandemic, Craig seamlessly transitioned to virtual lessons via live video conferencing and we did not miss a beat. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a piano teacher.
